Fama M'Boup

"Doves" is the new EP by Fama M'Boup (Olicía, B O D I E S, Of Cabbages and Kings). Across just eight minutes and seventeen seconds, the Berlin-based musician presents five compositions originally written for the theatre production "Sie sagen Täubchen, ich sag Taube", revealing previously unheard sonic textures within her musical palette.

Created for the play by Sinah Ahlers, the pieces move between delicate, melancholic miniatures and energetically produced pop music. Like the production itself, which is aimed at audiences aged 14 and up, the five tracks on "Doves" explore what it means to be young today. Themes of freedom, crossing boundaries, rejection, and consent run through the three variations of the song "nobody."

With "Sommersong, Fama M'Boup releases her first-ever song in German. Driven by propulsive drum beats, lightness, and a spirit of self-determined adventure, the track celebrates freedom, curiosity, and the courage to embrace the unknown.

The EP closes with "Guerilla," created in collaboration with Pascal Schmidt, aka The Schmidt 007. Infused with Ballroom culture, club-inspired sounds, and The Schmidt 007's distinctive chants, the track brings a powerful, dancefloor-driven energy to the project. In the theatre production, Schmidt also appears as one of the three performers, transforming the stage through a voguing femme performance into a space of strength, movement, and empowerment.

"Doves" brings together selected music from "Sie sagen Täubchen, ich sag Taube," which premiered at Theater Münster in February 2026 and was enthusiastically received by audiences. Directed by Sophie Pahlke Luz, the production unfolds as a nuanced work of poetry, music, and emotional depth. Fama M'Boup composed and produced the original score, with this EP presenting selected pieces from the soundtrack.
